A fugitive stumbles on a movie set and sees an old woman who after walking through the set greeting the actors falls in the sea. He rescues her he is shocked when she pulls off her face – old -age prosthetics – and reveals herself to be Nina Franklin (Barbara Hershey), the movie’s leading lady, who had been spoofing her screen husband by asking for his autograph while in her old lady makeup. That sets the tone of the movie: in the movie business nothing, and nobody, is as it seems.
Nina’s character in the movie becomes a war widow do Nina is seen in both as middle-age and old-age makeup during the shooting of the movie within the movie.
A wonderful movie about movie-making.
Ken Chase was the makeup designer and Tom Lucas was makeup artist on the movie.
