A few years from now, Earth will have the first contact with an alien civilisation. These aliens, known as Newcomers, slowly begin to be integrated into human society after years of quarantine but are victims of a new type of racist discrimination. Oh yes, and in case anyone failed to get the moral, the Newcomers were ex-slaves.
When Sam Francisco becomes the first Newcomer police officer promoted to detective he is assigned to a reluctant human partner, Matthew Sykes, but the animosity between them soon gives way to respect as they investigate the Newcomer underworld, and especially Newcomer leader William Harcourt. Cassandra (Leslie Bevis), an exotic dancer, is the only female Newcomer character credited.
The Newcomer makeup consisted of full-facial prosthetics but in the TV series this was simplified to just a headpiece for reasons of cost and practicality.
John M Elliott Jr was makeup co-department head with David LeRoy Anderson, Grant Arndt, John Blake, Roger Borelli, Zoltan Elek, Greg Figiel, Steve Frakes, Mark Garbarino, Emilio M Gonzales, Jeff Kennemore, Makio Kida, Eryn Krueger, Richard J. Landon, Karen Mason, Brian Penikas, John Price, Matt Rose, Russell Seifert, Michael Spatola, Michiko Tagawa & Mike Trcic all working on alien makeup effects. I have no idea which of these artists designed or applied Cassandra’s makeup; if anyone can help clarify the credits, please email themakeupgallery.
