period: Nouvelle-France

Nouvelle-France

This awful film is set during the final days of Nouvelle-France in the mid-eighteenth century when Britain and France fought of the Canadian colonies as a part of the Seven Years’ War. It was described in one review as a bodice-ripper in which ‘very few bodices actually get ripped’.

It has an impressive international cast – most of them in ludicrously brief, blink-and-you-miss-it cameos – including Tim Roth as William Pitt and Micky Sébastian as Madame de Pompadour.
