Various race-changing makeups for photoshoots and publicity events (or publicity stunts) featuring actresses, models, and various celebrities. There are some very similar makeups in the factual entertainment section where the intention is – at least supposedly – journalistic.

The transformations

Ebony (1956): In 1956 Ebony magazine asked William Tuttle to undertake an unusual and dramatic transformation on an African-American woman for a photo-feature. Rather than do an old-age makeup, as suggested, he chose to transform her into a Japanese geisha - he was filming Teahouse of the August Moon at the time.
