An untraditional music biopic following the troubled life of Dewey Cox, a fictional rock & roll legend whose songs had the power to shake a nation. His career and his personal life were a roller coaster ride; he rubbed shoulders with everyone from Elvis Presley to the Beatles, ingested every drug known to man, starred in his own television show, and slept with hundreds of women, yet somehow managed to write some of the best-known songs ever to hit the airwaves.
But did he have what it takes to finally settle down with one woman, backing singer Darlene (Jenna Fischer) and could he deliver the magic again for one last performance.
Kristen Wiig also appears as his first wife Edith – a local girl who fell for Dewey as a teenager after seeing his first concert and who was in the audience for his final performance.
John Blake was the head makeup artist; Kim Ayers was the key makeup artist; Roxy D'Alonzo, Rocky Faulkner, Ed French, & Kevin Haney were the special makeup effects artists.
Justin Stafford (uncredited) made and applied Jenna Fischer’s prosthetics.
