A few years ago Wendy van Dijk had great success on Dutch television in a candid-camera TV show Ushi en Van Dijk which ran for three years in which she conducted spoof interviews with unwitting Dutch and international celebrities in the guise of a Japanese journalist called Ushi Hirosaki.
When eventually Ushi became too well known (and any slightly weird interviewer was sometimes suspected of being Wendy van Dijk in disguise) as she explained:
So Wendy van Dijk took a new tack: spoofing members of the public in a candid-camera type show, though Ushi also made appearances. Wendy developed a whole family of characters for the new show: Grandmother Betsie, mother Gerda and daughter Bo.
Kevin van den Bergh (Kevin van den Bergh Special Makeup Effects) was responsible for Wendy’s transformation into the Leenders family: with all three characters requiring prosthetic makeup.
