In the first sequel to Planet of the Apes, another astronaut, Brent, is sent to rescue Taylor but crash lands on the Planet of the Apes, just like Taylor did in the original film. Brent follows Taylor into the Forbidden Zone where, in a subterranean city, they encounter a group of humans who live in fear of the Apes&. Then they realise that the humans are in fact mutants who worship a weapon capable of destroying the entire planet – not exactly a situation conducive to anyone’s survival, especially when the apes mount an attack on the city.
Albina (Natalie Trundy) was one of the mutant leaders.
Natalie Trundy was married to one of the producers of the Planet of the Apes movies: this may explain why she appeared in as many films in the series as Roddy McDowall. Before eventually graduating to apedom as Lisa in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and Battle for the Planet of the Apes, she also played Dr Stephanie Branton, a human scientist, in Escape from the Planet of the Apes.
John Chambers was responsible for creative makeup design; Daniel C [Dan] Striepeke was the makeup supervisor; Verne Langdon was the special makeup effects artist (uncredited).
