barbarian makeups: Titus

Anybody who thinks splatter movies are new has never sat through Titus Andronicus or any of the Revenger’s tragedies.

After her sons are killed by Titus, the heavily-tattooed warrior queen Tamora (Jessica Lange) is captured and brought to Rome where she sets in train a bloody cycle of revenge.

Luigi Rocchetti and Gino Tamagnini were key makeup artists for the movie: Dorothy J. Pearl was makeup artist for Jessica Lange. Tony Gardner was responsible for special makeup effects on the movie.

I’m really curious how come Tamora lost part of her tattoo in one scene – it really seems far to big an omission to have been an unnoticed error – if anyone knows, or if they can help with the credits for the tattoo design and application, please themakeupgallery.
