1911 is a 2011 Chinese film which is a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution and the resulting overthrow of China’s last imperial dynasty. It was also Jackie Chan’s 100th film.
The storyfollows key events of the Xinhai Revolution, beginning with the Wuchang Uprising of 1911 to the abdication of the last Qing emperor Puyi – signed on his behalf by Empress Dowager Longyu (Joan Chen) and the appointment of a provisional president in Beijing in March 1912.
At the time Longyu was forty three and did not look as glamorous as the fifty-year-old Joan Chen portraying her.
I don’t have the makeup credits for this movie.
