Racechanging: Mohawk

Mohawk

An artist working in a remote army post finds himself juggling relationships with not only his fiancée, who has newly arrived from the east, but also the storekeeper’s daughter, and Onida (Rita Gam), the Mohawk Chief’s daughter.

But when a vengeful settler manages to start a dispute between the Mohawks and the army his troubles really begin.

Onidas mother, Minikah, was played by Mae Clarke who is mostly remembered as the blonde who had a grapefuit rammed into her face by James Cagney in The Public Enemy some twenty-five years previously.

The makeup

Louis Hippe was the makeup artist.
