In the original books Aunt Sall was Worzel’s Aunt, but in the Jon Pertwee television version Aunt Sally became Worzel’s love interest.
In the new TV adaptation Aunt Sally (Vicki Pepperdine) is once again a bitter, maiden aunt, who has been languishing for years in a museum storeroom.
Vicki Pepperdine said:
Our Aunt Sally, like the Aunt Sally in the original 1930s books, has been retired from fairground work and is now residing in a dusty old museum and doesn’t get out. She’s quite lonely, and angry that she’s been left ‘to rot’.
Katie Meakin was the makeup artist.
Neill Gorton & Rob Mayor of Millennium FX were the prosthetic designers.
